Project details
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Type: Custom Project
Year: 2022
Scope: Design & build
The Brief
Shelter for dining outdoors. A covered space against the back of the house, giving the patio dining area shelter while keeping it open to the garden.
Materials
Heavy timber and a living roof. A heavy timber frame with curved knee braces carries a roof planted as a sedum green roof, above a paved patio.
Outcome
A pergola that brings the garden overhead. The finished pergola frames the dining area beside the house, and its sedum roof softens the structure with planting.
